Our Story

Colorado Equine Clinic has been providing ambulatory and hospital care for horses and clients since 1988. With dedication coming from our compassion for owners and animals we focus on assisting in healing animals and educating owners. We believe that exceptional veterinary care begins with understanding that every horse is an individual. Whether treating a competitive athlete or a beloved companion, we apply the same dedication to research-driven medicine and personalized treatment plans.

Our approach combines cutting-edge diagnostic technology with time-tested veterinary expertise. We don't just treat symptoms—we investigate root causes, collaborate with other professionals in your horse's care team, and develop comprehensive strategies for long-term health and performance. As a second-generation family practice, we're invested in building lasting relationships with our clients and their horses. Your trust is our most valuable asset, and we work every day to earn and maintain it.

IFEPR Research Foundation

Colorado Equine Clinic has partnered with Astaria Global and the International Foundation for Equine Podiatry Research in investigating the use of a very potent anti-inflammatory molecule, A2, in the treatment of laminitis. Results on four horses, 8 feet over Fall 2022, has given these horses much reduction in pain, improved blood flow, and decrease in rotation.

  • "Colorado Equine was an outstanding experience with a fantastic team! I felt welcomed immediately and was asked to participate in cases at once. Through my time there, I made lifelong connections and learned intangible skills for the field and in business management. Colorado Equine and Small Animal Clinic is a great experience for any equine or mixed animal interns or veterinary students. I highly recommend working with Dr. Page and the entire CEC team."

  • Review from G Barnes

"Barnes Ranch has used the services of Colorado Equine Clinic for many years. We continue with our relationship because CEC offers all of the services that we need- maintenance, injury, chronic problems, surgery, and emergencies- with the focus on what is best for our horses. We’re pleased that CEC suggests not only traditional therapies, but stays on the cutting edge of what is new in the equine and veterinary world. Their technology- computer, x-rays, ultrasound, and other equipment and techniques are very up to date. Including accurate x-ray angles and images which results in better solutions and prognoses."

  • "The team at Colorado Equine have not only take excellent care of both of our horses, but they have been an invaluable resource for us as owners. Dr. Page’s experience and knowledge is so hard to find, and she has done so well to pass it on to her entire staff. No matter who I’m dealing with from their clinic, I have confidence in their direction. One of our horses in particular has needed a very creative and long-term approach to his treatment. I am astonished at how invested they are in helping him get back to a healtier, happier life. We can’t thank Dr. Page and the whole team enough for what they do."

  • "By truly paying attention to what my horse is telling me, and in partnership with Dr. Page and the staff at Colorado Equine Clinic, I’ve successfully maintained a high level of health and conditioning for my horse. Proactive and routine care certainly results in high value rewards for my horse and for me."

  • "Boris, Fabiola, Nelson, Damara, Bizmark, Armani and Sheriff. These are the names of my beloved horses that have benefited from my long relationship with Dr. Barbara Page and Colorado Equine Clinic. She helped Boris live to be 37 years old, Fabiola to recover from a very bad laminitis episode to be sound again, Nelson, Bizmark and Sheriff to age well and thrive as dressage horses with arthritis using regenerative medicine. Dr. Page also has a gift for picking excellent young veterinarians to work with her at the clinic who then go on to their own practices so if you call CEC and do not get Dr. Page, your equine family is still in good hands. CEC also has a wonderful wellness program that I subscribe to every year that covers all of the standard exams and vaccinations. I have been very lucky to have Dr. Page on my team."

    - Susan Smith

  • "I have benefited from having my herd as members of Colorado Equine Clinic’s Wellness Program for a few years now. For me, knowing that most maintenance procedures are already paid for is one less thing I need to worry about. CEC sends out shot, fecal check and teeth floating reminders. All I have to do is schedule. Just after renewing our Wellness program for our herd (inclduing our newest member, Ki) we discovered that Ki was suffering from ulcers. Needless to say I was thrilled to know that all medicial services were at a 5% discount because he was a member of the Wellness Program. I highly recommend CEC Wellness Program and I thank Dr. Page offering this fabulous opportunity."

    - Terri M, Begin Again Ranch

  • "Every aspect of this clinic is outstanding! The staff is very helpful, and the vet is extremely knowledgeable. She has saved my horses’ lives on numerous occasions. I can’t think of anything bad about this place."

    - R McEwen

  • "I wanted to thank you all for the kindness and compassion you had for me and Sully, especially on his final day. You guys are truly amazing and I strongly appreciate everything Colorado Equine did for me and him. All of you were so helpful and made everything as easy as vet visits could be. Please tell Dr. Page that I’ve never met a vet like her. She was so great and I can tell how much she really cared for me and my boy. I couldn’t have asked for anything better than the way we were both treated. I hope she’s there for the next horse I get because there’s no one I’d rather have with me through another journey than her. Laying Sully to rest was so peaceful and I couldn’t have asked for it to go any better thanks to her. Sully was given such a nice way to go and I will always be grateful for that. I can’t say it enough but thank you so much."

    - B Meador

  • "I love how much CEC appreciates my desire for professional care and consideration of my horses. One example that comes to mind is when I was having a soundness problem with one of the horses. They would call to check on her status, sometimes the office, but sometimes a vet themselves. The genuine consideration for my horses is quite a benefit in a vet. I find their pricing to be quite reasonable whether it is an office visit or a farm call. Finally, they offer a wellness plan that offers me peace of mind to keep my schedule on track."

    - R Jennings

  • "Some of my favorite things about the culture at this clinic are the flexibility to practice medicine as you see fit and build a great relationship with owners and patients alike. Allowing time to give special and individualized care to patients. Really feeling like you are part of the practice family that your wants are heard and you have the freedom to make the changes you feel will best benefit the pets that you care for and the ability to pursue personal interests in veterinary medicine such as alternative therapies and relationships with various venders and laboratories so you know and feel you are doing the best for every patient."

    - Lindsey Farris, DVM

  • "My horse was extremely lame to the point of hopping on three legs when he arrived at Dr. Page’s. She was able to quickly determine it was an abscess and that xrays weren’t necessary, and gave us a simple, effective, and affordable treatment plan. Everything went exactly how she expected with the abscess coming out and quickly being on track for recovery. She was also willing to see him on the weekend despite it being the day of her son’s graduation. Can’t thank her enough!!"

    - A Kilne

  • "Dr. Page is the only vet you need to see for lameness. She is gifted and will tell you exactly what is going on with your horse. She is the only veterinarian I trust. She truly works for the horse and is passionate about her job."

    - Old Glory Ranch

  • "Dr. Page has gone above and beyond to help me with one of my horse with severe allergies. My gelding has chronic hives, and she was able to do blood allergy testing and prescribbe meds that could help keep him comfortable and prevent the hives outbreaks. The vet techs, front desk reception staff, everyone at Colorado Equine Clinic has been so kind and so helpful and they have excellent communication skills. I think Dr. Page has the best listening skills of all humans I know. I highly recommend her and so grateful for her and her entire staff!"

    - M Layton

  • "Our horse has been lame on and off for over a year and was getting very little relief with injections and adequan. The owner of the facility our horses are boarded at recommended Dr. Page. We took our horse into see her and she found the problem right away, suggested PRP and after doing the PRP he has been 100% sound. Dr. Page walks you through everything she is doing and makes you feel so comfortable while you and your horse are there. I highly recommend Colorado Equine Clinic!"

    - J Dailey

  • "Colorado Equine Clinic isn’t just a great place to take your horse for wonderful care, they’re like family! From the office staff to the techs and the vets, CEC treats each client with compassion and care. Dr. Page doesn’t come out and just treat our equine friends, she takes the time to share her great knowledge and experiences to discuss and treat with the best options and most reasonable without breaking the bank. I would highly recommend this clinic to any and all my people with equine pals!!!"
